During the course of the five-day GITEX Global 2023, which got underway in the Dubai World Trade Center on Monday, October 16, autonomous patrol and AI-powered patrol cars were unveiled.
The world‘s largest technology and startup exhibition brought together over 6,000 firms worldwide under the subject “The Year to Imagine AI in Everything.”
AI-powered patrol vehicles
Unveiling its self-driving security patrol, the Dubai Police hopes to improve safety in residential areas. Next year is when they’re supposed to be implemented. The autonomous unit can travel at up to 7 km/h, and the vehicle’s battery can last up to 15 hours.
The primary goal of the patrol, which is intended especially for residential areas, is to increase security coverage. It has a sophisticated camera that can record 360 degrees of video.
In addition, the car’s artificial intelligence and smart technology enable it to read license plates, identify faces, and detect suspicious activity.
Furthermore, the patrol has direct connection technology installed, which enables it to communicate in real-time with the general operations department of the Dubai Police’s command and control center.
The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) revealed patrol cars with artificial intelligence (AI) to track and evaluate delivery bike riders’ performance.
Over 45,000 delivery drivers in Dubai will be watched over by five roving cars that will be initially deployed in the new year. Each roving car will have six smart cameras that allow for a 360-degree view of the road.
Deliveries that are not wearing the proper uniform or safety gear are detected by smart patrols using high-definition cameras.
