Russia is Looking into Wagner Chief for “Armed Mutiny”

Yevgeny Prigozhin of Wagner has been charged with armed mutiny by Russia’s FSB security service after he claimed that the Russian military had targeted his soldiers and vowed to “destroy” his rivals. Numerous Prigozhin fighters were allegedly killed by a Russian rocket attack, and he promised to exact revenge and put an end to the horror that the nation’s military leadership was bringing about.

A video of the aftermath of the rocket attack on a Wagner camp in southern Russia’s Rostov region was also released by him. To put a stop to the instability in the nation, Prigozhin declared war on his competitors in the Russian military.

Moscow has tightened security procedures and reinforced protection for important facilities. The unverified video also seemed to depict military trucks driving through the streets of the Russian capital.

The series of remarks pitted Prigozhin against the defense minister Sergei Shoigu and senior military commanders, signaling an extraordinary escalation of internal strife among Russia’s elite.

  • Prigozhin criticizes the Russian invasion of Ukraine, accusing opponents of lies.

The FSB advised the Wagner fighters to avoid making fatal errors, to cease using force against the Russian people, to disregard Prigozhin’s unlawful and treasonous commands, and to take action to have him arrested.

Prigozhin could spend anywhere from 12 to 20 years behind bars. For months, Prigozhin has been debating battlefield failures with senior military figures, including Shoigu.

He charged Moscow‘s authorities with misleading the public about the reasons for invading Ukraine and refuted Moscow’s assertions that Kyiv intended to start an operation against the Russian-controlled regions of eastern Ukraine in February 2022.

In the sharpest critique of the decision to attack Ukraine by any significant Russian war figure, Prigozhin’s tirades on Friday marked a new uptick in his verbal battle with political opponents. They contradicted Putin’s justification for the invasion and said that it was founded on lies.
