Titan Sub Debris Contains What Appear to be Human Remains

Presumable human remains have been discovered in the Titan submersible’s wreckage, according to the US Coast Guard. Among the debris, the sub’s landing structure and a rear cover were discovered. US medical experts will perform a thorough study of the alleged remains.

The Marine Board of Investigation (MBI) of the Coast Guard will transport the material to a US port for additional research and testing while the agency is still in the early stages of its investigation into the disaster’s causes.

The study into what caused the accident is still in its early stages. Capt. Jason Neubauer, chair of the Marine Board of Investigation (MBI) for the Coast Guard, expressed appreciation for the coordinated international and interagency help in retrieving and preserving crucial evidence at extreme offshore depths.

The head of OceanGate, which planned the dive, was the Titan sub, which went down in the 1912 catastrophe.

  • Early investigation into the accident’s cause thanks to international cooperation.
  • Coast Guard acknowledges precautions and formal witness testimony in human remains investigation.

Initially skeptical about the possibility of recovering any of the victims, the Coast Guard eventually acknowledged that investigators would take “all precautions” if they came across human remains and that the investigation would probably involve formal testimony from witnesses.

The Canadian ship Horizon Arctic, which was in charge of the rescue mission, was carrying a remotely operated vehicle run by Pelagic Research Services.

Ex-employees have expressed worries about the Titan sub, which was not subject to regulation, and OceanGate has come under fire for its safety procedures.
