- France has recorded 121 females killed to date this 12 months in femicides, the killing of a girl by virtue of her gender, as compared with 118 in 2022.

Thousands of people rallied in France on Saturday, the International Day against violence against women.
Demonstrators weaved through the cold streets of Paris and other cities, many wearing purple, the color of women and gender equality, chanting: “A rape every six minutes in France” and “Protect your women, educate your men.”
Violence against women in the limelight
In Italy, around 50,000 people protested in Rome, according to the AGI news agency.
Violence against women has been in the spotlight in the country since Giulia Cecchettin, a 22-year-old university student, was murdered by her ex-boyfriend.
The case gripped Italy, sparking protests across the country, where an average of one woman is killed every three days.
“We also are united inside the call of Giulia, due to the fact her tale struck us and that i wish it’s going to trade something,” said Aurora Arleo, a 24-yr-antique scholar who traveled to the demonstration from Ladispoli, close to Rome said.
In Guatemala, people held candles and wrote 438 – the number of women killed in the country so far this year. Meanwhile, in Chile, protesters carried photos of the victims as they marched in Santiago.
