  • Numan Kurtulmus has banned certain goods, such as Nestle instant coffee and Coca-Cola drinks.
  • Thousands upon thousands of Turkish citizens have protested against Israeli operations in Gaza in the streets.

As a result of their alleged support for Israel during the Hamas conflict, Turkey’s parliament banned Coca-Cola and Nestle products from its restaurants, according to a statement made public by the parliament, which was confirmed by Reuters news agency, citing an anonymous source.

Numan Kurtulmus, the speaker of the Turkish parliament, has banned certain goods, such as Nestle instant coffee and Coca-Cola drinks, from the campus cafeterias, restaurants, and tea rooms.

The decision was made in response to popular demand since Turkish activists have been demanding a boycott of Western businesses, they believe to be supporting Israeli and Israeli products.

The action was taken in response to criticism from Turkey’s government of Israel’s Gaza attacks and Western backing for Jerusalem. Since Hamas attacked southern Israel a month ago, resulting in the deaths of 1,400 people and the seizure of 240 hostages, Israel has been bombarding Gaza.

Over 10,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel’s assault, including 4,100 children, according to Gaza health officials.

Thousands upon thousands of Turkish citizens have protested against Israeli operations in Gaza in the streets, and many of them have also expressed their disapproval on social media.
