The ‘Mutual Trust’ Led to More ‘Cooperation’ Between India-Australia

According to ANI, which cited an interview with The Australian Newspaper, PM Modi made a comment about the friendship between India and Australia when he landed in Australia. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has noted that the strong level of confidence that exists between the two countries has naturally translated into increased cooperation over time, particularly regarding defense and security issues.

He continued by saying that he wanted to take their bilateral relationship to the “next level,” which would entail closer defense ties to aid in the development of an “open and free” Indo-Pacific.

Mutual Trust

PM Narendra Modi has spoken on the relationship between India and Australia and noted that the Indo-Pacific region faced difficulties such as terrorism, piracy, illicit fishing, natural disasters, climate change, and natural catastrophes.

Additionally, he emphasized his desire for both nations to reach their “true potential” in terms of closer military and security cooperation. On May 22, PM Modi landed in Sydney, where he was greeted by Barry O’Farrell, the Australian High Commissioner to India, and other authorities.

During his two-day tour, PM Modi will meet with business leaders and his Australian colleague Anthony Albanese for a bilateral meeting.

In addition, he will interact with the 750,000-person Indian diaspora and give a speech at a “mega-event” in Sydney Olympic Park.

The leaders will talk about commerce and investment, including initiatives to increase trade through a Comprehensive Economic Collaboration Agreement and work to enhance inter-ethnic relations, the use of renewable energy sources, and collaboration in the areas of defense and security.

In Australia, members of the Indian diaspora greeted PM, Modi, with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram” as soon as he arrived.
