The EU has settled a disagreement on taxation and administrative expenses in Belgium by deciding to arm Ukraine with money taken from Russia’s embargoed assets.
The agreement was reached in response to the damage done to many oil tanks at an oil refinery in the Krasnodar area of Russia by an attack by a Ukrainian drone. Seventeen out of the twenty assault drones that Russia deployed against the Odesa region were destroyed by Ukraine’s air defenses.

Eight individuals were hurt in Belgorod following what was reportedly a missile attack or shelling by Ukrainian forces, one of whom was an 11-year-old girl. James Cleverly, the British Home Secretary, declared that Russia was closing some of its diplomatic locations in response to “malign activity” that was occurring around Europe and Britain.
The actions follow an alleged arson attack on an east London company with ties to Ukraine that officials believe was masterminded by the Kremlin. Russia has refuted any connection. Six Bulgarian nationals are accused of plotting to conduct espionage in the UK on behalf of Russia in a different case.
On Wednesday, Russian drones and missiles attacked around a dozen Ukrainian infrastructure sites, seriously damaging three thermal power plants and resulting in outages across several areas. Denys Shmyhal, the prime minister of Ukraine, stated that the government needs $1 billion to finance repairs after estimating that over 800 heating facilities had been damaged and up to 8GW of electricity generation had been lost thus far.
Declaring that it had caught up to Russia in the production of deep-strike drones, Ukraine stated it was producing the same amount of these vital weapons. The settlements of Novokalynove in the Donetsk area of Ukraine and Kyslivka in the Kharkiv region have been overrun by Russian soldiers.
A bill that permits the mobilization of certain convict groups but prohibits those found guilty of premeditated murder, rape, sexual assault, and crimes against national security has been approved by the Ukrainian parliament. Olaf Scholz, the chancellor of Germany, emphasized Berlin’s support for a mid-June peace summit in Ukraine to be held in Switzerland.
