Referring to a petition that was placed on the Ukrainian presidential website, Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, warned reporters that it was a “huge danger.” The Russian army would target French troops if they were stationed on Ukrainian territory, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova warned reporters.

Overnight, Russia attacked Ukraine’s infrastructure with over 50 missiles and 20 drones, resulting in a “massive attack” on the nation’s energy network. The biggest energy business in Ukraine, DTEK, reported on Telegram that the Russians had assaulted three of its thermal power reactors, calling it “another extremely difficult night for the Ukrainian energy industry.”
Russian activist Timur Bulatov, who has boasted to the authorities about condemning LGBT persons and Kremlin dissidents, is now under attack and is accused of undermining the Russian armed forces.
Bulatov is a vocal supporter of Russia’s “special military operation” in Ukraine. According to a notice placed on the court website in Moscow, he was accused under a censorship statute that has been used to target war opponents.
Two additional villages in the Donetsk and Kharkiv districts were allegedly taken over by the Russian military. Even though Russian forces have been advancing in eastern Ukraine over the past few weeks, the ministry did not back up its statements, which it made public on Telegram.
On May 7, Russian forces continued their assaults close to Chasiv Yar, according to analysts at the Institute for the Study of War think tank, but there had been no official modifications to the frontline.
In recent months, French President Emmanuel Macron has made multiple indications that his country may consider deploying ground forces to support Kyiv’s war endeavors in Ukraine. Nonetheless, Moscow has taken advantage of these remarks, stating that the presence of any troops from a NATO member will result in an open confrontation between Russia and NATO.
Before this, the Western military alliance denied that there were any intentions to send troops from the bloc to Ukraine in response to Macron’s remarks.
