Kursk closed its schools following a suspected incursion by Ukrainians

Kursk, a city in Russia, is moving to online learning in the wake of a Ukrainian attempt to invade the area. Armed organizations headquartered in Ukraine asserted that they had penetrated the Kursk and Belgorod districts of Russia, while Russia countered that it had stopped the incursions.

Overnight, Ukrainian drones launched attacks on the Kursk region as well. The Swiss parliament’s acceptance of resolutions allowing the government to investigate ways to freeze and transfer Russian assets to pay for reparations for Ukraine has prompted Russia’s foreign ministry to call Switzerland’s ambassador.

Russia-Ukraine War

Russia vehemently denounces this action taken by the Swiss government, which flagrantly transgresses the core precepts and standards of international law about state immunity. Any incursion upon Russian state property concealed behind any improbable “reparative mechanism” would amount to state-level theft. According to the ministry, should the Swiss plan be carried out, Russia will retaliate.

In response to sanctions imposed by Moscow for its invasion of Ukraine, Switzerland announced last year that it had frozen bank assets worth an estimated 7.7 billion Swiss francs ($8.81 billion) that belonged to Russians.

In a massive strike that seriously damaged a major oil refinery and attempted to breach the land boundaries of the largest nuclear power in the world with armed proxies, Ukraine bombarded targets in Russia with hundreds of drones and rockets.
