The Times of Israel claims that Israel attacked the Iranian military facility in Isfahan with The Rampage, an air-to-surface missile that was created domestically. Iran’s military forces were commended for their operation against Israel on April 13 by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who also urged them to “ceaselessly pursue military innovation and learn the enemy’s tactics.”
The US’s consideration of sanctions against an Israel Defence Forces (IDF) unit has drawn criticism from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and senior members of his war cabinet, who describe it as a “dangerous precedent” and “the wrong message.”
Rampage
At least 34,097 individuals have died in the Gaza Strip during the more than six-month-long conflict between Israeli forces and Palestinian militants, according to the health ministry in the Hamas-run region. The number of casualties in the Gaza Strip since Hamas militants attacked Israel on October 7 is 76,980, with at least 48 deaths in the last 24 hours.
18 people were killed overnight in Israeli strikes on the southern Gaza city of Rafah, including 14 minors, according to health officials. The $26 billion aid package, which includes about $9 billion in humanitarian relief for Gaza, was adopted by the House of Representatives on Saturday.
In the first strike, an Israeli strike on a residence in southern Lebanon resulted in the deaths of Hezbollah fighters and a man, his wife, and their three-year-old child.
Analysts claim that although the Palestinian economy has been hampered for decades by agreements made during the Oslo Peace Accords, the Gaza war is hastening Israel’s “annexation” of the country. Israel is squeezing the Palestinian Authority—which controls portions of the West Bank—tighter by withholding taxes that it collects for the group. The US House of Representatives’ ratification of billions of dollars in new military aid to Israel was portrayed by the Palestinian leadership as “an aggression against the Palestinian people” and as a “dangerous escalation.”
