Iran Warns of Retaliation Amid U.S. Threats

  • Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei warns of a “strong blow” if attacked by the U.S. or Israel.
  • Trump reiterates the threat of bombing Iran unless a new nuclear deal is reached.
  • Tehran prepares missile forces and threatens U.S. bases, including Diego Garcia.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has warned that any attack from the U.S. or Israel will result in a forceful retaliation. His comments come amid rising tensions, with Tehran asserting its readiness to strike American positions in response to threats made by President Donald Trump.

Amid the ongoing standoff, Iran has ruled out direct negotiations but remains open to indirect talks. The Iranian leadership has communicated its stance through Oman, stating that trust must be restored for diplomatic engagement.

U.S.-Iran Tensions Escalate Over Nuclear Deal Standoff

Iran has firmly rejected direct talks with the U.S. while keeping the door open for indirect negotiations through Oman. The Iranian leadership insists that trust has been damaged due to past broken agreements, and any future discussions depend on the U.S.’s approach. In the meantime, Iran has issued a direct warning to Washington through the Swiss embassy, underscoring its resolve to respond decisively to any aggression.

The Tehran Times has reported that Iran’s military has placed missiles on high alert, prepared to strike U.S.-related positions if hostilities escalate. Additionally, Iranian state media highlighted that long-range missiles and attack drones could target U.S. bases, including Diego Garcia, a crucial military hub in the Indian Ocean.

Khamenei’s remarks align with Iran’s broader strategy of deterrence, emphasizing that any external “mischief” will be met with a severe response. Iranian officials have also suggested that regional allies may join in retaliatory action if conflict breaks out, further increasing the risks of escalation.

Amid this tense backdrop, Trump has reiterated that Iran has two months to accept a new nuclear agreement or face severe consequences. His administration has made it clear that military action remains on the table, adding further uncertainty to an already volatile situation.

With tensions at a boiling point, both Iran and the U.S. are engaging in high-stakes brinkmanship. While diplomacy remains an option, the risk of conflict continues to grow as both sides issue increasingly severe warnings.

“The enmity from the U.S. and Israel has always been there. They threaten to attack us, which we don’t think is very probable, but if they commit any mischief, they will surely receive a strong reciprocal blow.” – Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
