In advance of the FIBA Basketball World Cup, Canada releases its 18-man squad

The top-two finishers in their First Round matches will proceed to the Second Round in Jakarta, Indonesia. Canada will take on teams from Group G, which consists of Iran, Spain, Ivory Coast, and Brazil if it advances to the Second Round.

Murray scored 20.0 points during the regular season and 26.1 points per game during the playoffs as Denver won the NBA title for the first time in the team’s history. Averaging 31.4 points and 5.5 assists per game for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Gilgeous-Alexander had a fantastic season.

Canada releases its 18-man squad

Barrett, who helped Canada win the tournament and was named the 2017 FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup MVP, averaged 19.6 points per game in 2022–23, his fourth season with the Knicks, and 19.3 points per game in the postseason.

The stacked 18-man squad will boost Canada’s aspirations of not only finishing on the podium but also contending for the championship.

The Houston Rockets’ Dillon Brooks, the Boston Celtics’ Oshae Brissett, the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Luguentz Dort, the Minnesota Timberwolves Nickeil Alexander-Walker, the Golden State Warriors’ Cory Joseph, the Utah Jazz’ Kelly Olynyk, and the Dallas Mavericks Dwight Powell are among the NBA players on the list.

The Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia will serve as the first-ever hosts of the FIBA Basketball World Cup, which will run from August 25 to September 10.
