PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Thailand for the 6th BIMSTEC Summit was marked by a warm cultural welcome and significant diplomatic engagements.

The summit aimed to enhance regional cooperation, with a key focus on the Agreement on Maritime Cooperation. Modi also met Thai PM Paetongtarn Shinawatra to discuss economic and strategic partnerships.

PM Modi’s visit to Bangkok blended diplomatic efforts with cultural exchanges, reinforcing India’s strong ties with Thailand. His arrival was met with traditional Indian festivities, including Garba and Bhangra performances, displaying the enthusiasm of the Indian diaspora. He later attended a presentation of Ramakien, where Thai artists combined Bharatanatyam and Khon to narrate the Ramayana.

The BIMSTEC Summit focused on enhancing trade, security, and regional connectivity among member nations. The signing of the Agreement on Maritime Cooperation was a key milestone, emphasizing the importance of economic and strategic alliances in the Bay of Bengal region.
