The Plex, Haystack News, and Tubi channels are now being added to Google TV’s growing collection of Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) channels.
Google also includes “built-in channels from Google TV that you can watch without even downloading or launching an app.” The service now offers more than 800 free channels, the company claims.

“Linear streaming content,” which is ad-supported and broadcast at specific times like traditional television programs, is what the term “FAST” alludes to. FAST channels, which rivals like Roku have already implemented, transform streaming into a format akin to conventional channel-surfing, illuminating the fact that live TV viewing is merely cable supplied through a different channel.
The service will provide shows including Law & Order: SVU, The Walking Dead, and Westworld claims Google. Additionally, it includes news items from NBC, ABC, CBS, and Fox. Additionally, it provides content in more than ten languages, including Spanish, Japanese, and Hindi, from all around the world.

In addition, Google asserts that the revamped TV guide’s content organization makes surfing easier and faster. The Google TV Live menu will include all of your live TV content, along with YouTube TV and Sling TV (if you have a subscription).
Even though most of the experience will be rather simple, some of the channels may need to be downloaded and set up. You can watch a multitude of shows for free with these services because they don’t have any monthly costs.
A new TV guide will feature all of those programs, making it simple to find what you’re looking for. For streamlined navigation, you may also add a couple of your favorite channels to the TV guide roster.
According to the Mountain View business, all Google TV devices in the USA, including Chromecast with Google TV and TVs from Sony, TCL, Hisense, and Philips that currently have Google TV built-in, will be able to access the new live TV experience.
The updated TV guide and free channels will be available to eligible Android TV devices later this year, according to a Google TV announcement. At some point this year, Google TV revealed plans to make the revamped TV guide and free channels available to compatible Android TV devices.
