On Saturday, journalist Connie Chung, the spouse of Maury Povich, presented him with the Daytime Emmys Lifetime Achievement Honor.
The 84-year-old talk show host, who announced his retirement last year, received recognition at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles during the creative arts gala.

Among Povich’s tributes are sportscasters Michael Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser, as well as Whoopi Goldberg, Kelly Clarkson, Lewis Black, and Karamo Brown. After starting in 1991, he terminated his tabloid-style show last year.
Rupert Murdoch, the owner of Fox Television, had Povich host “A Current Affair” from 1986 to 1990. Murdoch chastised Povich for raising his Emmy prize, saying that earning viewers counted more than accolades, according to Povich’s memory.
