The tentative list of the world’s ten busiest airports for 2023, released by Airports Council International (ACI), shows notable changes brought about by the rebound in international air traffic.
For the tenth consecutive year, Dubai International (DXB) has maintained its position as the busiest international airport in the world for international travel. Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, recognized the accomplishment and expressed satisfaction in maintaining the airport’s position as the top international airport in the world for a record ten years.

While Tokyo Haneda International Airport had a spectacular rise from 16th place in 2022 to 5th place in 2023, Dubai International Airport soared to second rank for the first time. Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Memphis International Airport, and Hong Kong International Airport continue to rank first, second, and third in the world, respectively, in terms of cargo in international trade. Doha International Airport climbed back into the top 10, moving up to number 8 after increasing 6.3% in 2019.
