The Pickleball Capital of the World and a plethora of live performing arts groups make this community in Southwest Florida well-known for its climate and general standard of living. With the first U.S. Open Pickleball Championships held there in 2016, Naples has also gained recognition as the Pickleball Capital of the World.
Best Places to Live
Sarasota ranked first, then Pensacola (ranked 31), Fort Myers (ranked 37), Melbourne (ranked 49), Jacksonville (ranked 56), Orlando (ranked 68), Tallahassee (ranked 75), Ocala (ranked 78), Lakeland (ranked 80), Port St. Lucie (ranked 83), Daytona Beach (ranked 96), and Miami (ranked 123).
To compile its “Best Places to Live” rankings, U.S. News & World Report gathers information from a variety of sources. Thousands of people were surveyed to gather their considerations for selecting a place to live. Four indexes comprise the rankings: the Desirability Index (19%), the Job Market Index (22%), the Quality of Life Index (32%), and the Value Index (27%).
Naples placed No. 6 on the list of the 150 “Best Places to Live in the U.S.” in 2023–2024 and No. 6 on the list of the top 10 retirement destinations in the country in 2022.
