In the most current Henley Passport Index, India‘s passport situation has significantly improved, rising 5 positions from the previous year to 80th place. This allows citizens of India to enter 57 nations without a visa or with a pre-arranged visa upon arrival.
However, it should be highlighted that India did poorly in the mobility category. Therefore, holders of Indian passports require a visa to access 177 countries throughout the world, including China, Japan, Russia, the United States, and the entirety of the European Union.
Visa-Free to Enter
Singapore has eclipsed Japan as the nation with the strongest passport, allowing visa-free travel to 192 foreign places, according to the most current Henley Passport Index.
Listed countries are Barbados, Bhutan, Bolivia, British Virgin Islands, Burundi, Cambodia, Cape Verde Islands, Comoro Islands, Djibouti, Dominica, El Salvador, Fiji, Gabon, Grenada, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Indonesia, Iran, Jamaica, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Laos, Macao (SAR China), Madagascar, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Mauritania, Mauritius, Micronesia, Montserrat, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Niue, Oman, Palau Islands, Qatar, Rwanda, Samoa, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sri Lanka, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Tanzania, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Togo, Trinidad, and Tobago, Tunisia, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Zimbabwe.

Japan dropped to third position on the list, which was published by London-based immigration expert Henley & Partners, after holding the top spot for five years due to a rise in the number of countries that accept its passport without a visa.
The United States, which was ranked first on the list more than ten years ago, is now in ninth place. The UK rose two ranks to fourth after a drop caused by Brexit, a position it previously held in 2017.
The figures from the International Air Transport Association are utilized to determine Henley’s ranking. Unlike earlier passport rankings, such as the one issued by financial advisory Arton Capital last year that gave the United Arab Emirates top honors, the methodology used in this index is different.
