Launch by SpaceX of the Falcon 9 Intelsat 40e Mission

At 12:30 a.m. EDT, the SpaceX Falcon 9 will lift off from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station carrying the Intelsat 40e satellite and NASA’s TEMPO probe.

A short while later, the first-stage booster safely touched down on a drone ship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

The Intelsat 40e satellite will be launched from Launch Complex 40 on a mission for satellite operator Intelsat of Luxembourg.

The NASA Tropospheric Emissions Monitoring of Pollution instrument is the satellite’s secondary payload. (TEMPO).

The first-stage booster will aim for SpaceX’s A Shortfall of Gravitas drone ship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean for a landing attempt about eight minutes following launch. This time, no nearby sonic booms are anticipated.

The fourth mission of the 162-foot first-stage Falcon 9 booster, which was launched into space from a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean, was successfully completed.

The Intelsat 40e satellite and NASA’s TEMPO sensor have been launched into orbit by SpaceX Falcon 9 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida’s Launch Complex 40.

90% of tonight’s launch attempt is expected to take place in favorable weather, according to Space Force forecasts.
