In Mexico City, 20,340 spectators witnessed Carlos Alcaraz take on Tommy Paul, providing them with their first-ever opportunity to watch elite tennis players in their city.

Other events are now providing fans with exclusive opportunities due to the expanding market and the interest in sports in the Mexican capital.

Regular season games are available for both Major League Baseball and the National Basketball Association, the latter of which has announced plans to grow or even establish a franchise in Mexico City.

With Formula One’s 2015 return to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez and the introduction of Formula E in the nation’s capital, the National Football League (NFL) has also grown.

Tomas Wolf, who brought his 10-year-old son along to the exhibition, stated that seeing professional tennis players in action was essential to the development of the sport in Mexico. Since Alcaraz is an inspiration to him, he hoped he would prevail.
