The most prolific goal scorer in French history and a legend in European football, Olivier Giroud, has agreed to an 18-month contract with Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles FC (LAFC). After stints at Istres and Tours, Giroud started his career at the French club Grenoble.

In 2012, he moved to Montpellier and won the Ligue 1 championship. After that, he played for Arsenal from 2012 to 2018, and then for three seasons, ending in a Champions League victory in 2021, he joined Chelsea.

LAFC

Giroud added another honor to his impressive résumé in 2021 when he helped AC Milan win the Serie A in Italy. Giroud’s record of 57 goals in 131 games makes him the all-time top goal scorer for France, which speaks something about his durability as an international player.

Additionally, in 2018 he assisted Les Bleus in winning the World Cup. With his signing with LAFC, Giroud has reconnected with his close friend and former captain of the national team, Hugo Lloris.

Lloris joined LAFC after retiring from international football after France’s 2022 World Cup final loss to Argentina. The meeting of Giroud and Lloris at LAFC represents a great skill combination as well as a friendship built on a never-ending quest for greatness and common experiences.
