A combination of good fortune and outstanding pitching has allowed the Texas Rangers to win their first World Series title in twelve years. Twelve years ago, the team suffered one of the most devastating gut punches in Fall Classic history, but they were determined to win the championship.
In Game 5, the Rangers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-0 to win the first championship in their 63-year franchise history. Nathan Eovaldi pitched six stern innings, and Mitch Garver broke a scoreless tie with an RBI single in the seventh. Following their three-game victory in the desert to close out the Fall Classic, the Rangers finished with a record 11-0 road record this postseason when Marcus Semien homered in a four-run ninth.
World Series title
Fans of Texas, who witnessed their team come agonizingly close to winning a championship in 2011, were able to put some painful memories behind them with the victory.

Following his 2020 championship-winning performance with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Seager joined Sandy Koufax, Bob Gibson, and Reggie Jackson as the only players to win two World Series MVP awards.
A member of the Hall of Fame, Bochy is the sixth manager to win four titles. Pitcher Jon Gray, Seager, and Semien all cost the Rangers more than half a billion dollars to sign. The Rangers and the players received congratulations from former US President George W. Bush.
