On Friday, President Volodymyr Zelensky said, Ukraine will raise an International campaign when Russia will compete in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
If Russian and Belarusian athletes took part in the Olympics, then Ukraine will rule out boycotting the games, the Sports Minister, Vadim Guttsait said. They are banned in some sports of the Olympics but now they are allowed to play in other games under neutral flags.
IOC be in neutral
On Wednesday the Olympic Council of Asia offers the chance to Russian and Belarusian athletes the to compete in Asia and gave them a qualification pathway to the Paris 2024 Olympics. So the International Olympic Committee (IOC) wants to see the Russian and Belarusian athletes back in the Olympics for major competitions.
As Zelensky said in the video address, “we will launch a marathon for fair play today, aimed at clearing the management of international Olympic structures of hypocrisy and preventing representatives of terrorist states from participating in world sport.”

“There is no doubt that the neutral flag of Russian athletes would be stained with blood … Olympic principles and war are fundamentally in opposition to each other. “The International Olympic Committee wants to a neutral chance to include Russian and Belarusian athletes in Paris 2024 Olympics.
In a statement on Friday, Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said attempts to eliminate Moscow from international sport were doomed.
Zelensky said the statement of the President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach is disappointing to her. In a letter to Bach last month, Zelensky expressed his opposition to Russian athletes competing under any kind of neutral banner at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
In Facebook writing, Guttsait said, ”If Russian and Belarusian athletes are confirmed to participate, then we will rule out boycotting the games and refuse to participate in Paris 2024 Olympics”.
