Anurag Singh Thakur, the Union Sports Minister, stated on Friday that Hamirpur has enormous potential for sports and that further facilities will be installed at the SAI National Centre Excellence in this Himachal Pradesh district.
The badminton court, matting hall, judo hall, and boxing hall of the Sports Authority of India‘s (SAI) NCOE at Anu were all opened by Thakur, a native of Hamirpur.

Aspiring athletes would receive better training because to the center of excellence’s latest amenities, according to Thakur.
According to him, the NCOE will grow, and in addition to hostel facilities, if space is available, there will be international quality facilities here for at least 20 major sports.

According to him, the Khelo India initiative will spend roughly Rs 3200 crore on port infrastructure over the course of the next five years in India.
About the synthetic track and other sporting venues in Anu, Thakur stated that local business owners, volunteers, sports enthusiasts, and well-known members of society must step up to support athletes.
Together, all of these persons can better organize sports activities and assist the athletes in creating a sports culture in the community, according to him.
Thakur encouraged young athletes to work hard and train following world standards. Earlier, the minister remembered Dr. BR Ambedkar’s contribution to India and paid tribute to the man who helped craft its constitution.
