F1 2025: Hamilton’s Ferrari Debut, Verstappen’s Future & McLaren’s Hopes

As Formula 1 heads into the 2025 season, all eyes are on Lewis Hamilton as he begins a new chapter with Ferrari. His move from Mercedes was one of the sport’s biggest shifts in recent years, and he has expressed excitement about this fresh challenge. Ferrari, which showed flashes of brilliance last season, hopes Hamilton’s expertise will help them mount a serious title challenge.

Meanwhile, Mercedes is undergoing a transition, with George Russell stepping up as the team’s lead driver. Toto Wolff has emphasized that their focus remains on the current lineup, dismissing rumors of Verstappen joining in 2026. With a young and evolving team, Mercedes aims to regain momentum and return to consistent podium finishes.

McLaren’s rise last season has sparked speculation about their championship potential, with many expecting Lando Norris to challenge Verstappen. However, Norris has been quick to downplay these expectations, warning that the season’s competitive balance remains uncertain. Despite their strong performance in 2024, McLaren still faces tough competition from Red Bull and Ferrari.

Jack Doohan’s position at Alpine is also a key talking point, as speculation mounts over his future. With reserve driver Franco Colapinto impressing last season, there are suggestions that Doohan has limited time to prove himself. However, the Australian rookie remains focused, stating that he is not concerned with rumors and is determined to perform at his best.

With Hamilton’s Ferrari era beginning, Mercedes reshaping its future, and McLaren eager to capitalize on momentum, the 2025 F1 season is shaping up to be one of the most thrilling in recent years.

“I don’t flirt outside if I’m in a good relationship.” – Toto Wolff on Mercedes’ stance regarding Verstappen.
