“Idol” Ons Jabeur is now humiliated by teenager Andreeva; Danielle Collins lost to Iga Swiatek

Melbourne Park resident Mirra Andreeva, 16, defeated Tunisian player Ons Jabeur 6-0, 6-2 to win a water sport championship at Rod Laver Arena. Ons’s amiable disposition and her style both on and off the court inspired her.

Top-tier In the longest Grand Slam match of her career, Iga Swiatek overcame American Danielle Collins to get to the third round of the Australian Open. At a Slam, Swiatek, ranked 62nd, was attempting to become the lowest-ranked American male or female to upset a world No. 1 player.

Mirra Andreeva

Even though Andreeva knew she wasn’t alone in feeling anxious before the match, she chose to enjoy herself despite her nervousness. She was defeated by her friend Alina Korneeva in the girls’ singles final on the same court in January of last year.

Andreeva decided to move on and seize her shot on the big court for the first time after giving it some thought for a week. She decided to take a gamble and triumph on the main court this time.

It was Andreeva’s first victory over a player ranked in the top ten. In the third round at Roland Garros, she will play Diane Parry of France, whom she defeated in the second round. Her perseverance and will to win the water sports tournament were evident in the encounter.

Iga Swiatek

After three hours and fourteen minutes, Swiatek’s match was her longest at the Grand Slam level and her second-longest on the circuit. One at a Slam. Later this year, Collins made her retirement official.

Next up for Swiatek is 19-year-old Czech Linda Noskova, who is ranked 50th. She managed to avoid the earliest Slam exit she has had since she was 18 years old at the 2019 U.S. Open.

Since then, Australian Ash Barty, who was ranked No. 1 when he resigned in March 2022, has lost four major championships and has emerged as the dominant player in the world.
