Stuart Robert, a leading member of the coalition, will resign from the House of Representatives after serving for 16 years. Robert declared that he was resigning from politics to spend more time with his family.
The Shadow Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Financial Services bemoaned the way that the legislature had evolved during his tenure in office.
