Brittany Higgins About Rape Allegation in the Court

Brittany Higgins has told the Government Court she opened up to the world about a charge she had been assaulted in Parliament House by a partner since she would have rather not been “complicit” in that frame of mind up, after she separated in tears giving proof about the evening of the supposed attack.

Higgins said she sat tight for Lehrmann in the workplace for what felt like quite a while. Her next memory was awakening in Reynolds’ ecclesiastical suite, she said.

Higgins claimed during her proof that Lehrmann endeavored to kiss her prior days she charged he assaulted her in Parliament House and took her telephone “jokingly” when they initially met on Walk 2, 2019, to prevent her from leaving a Canberra bar. He has denied those episodes happened.
