The first NFT items showcasing the works of aviation photographer Luke Ozawa went up for auction on Tuesday, according to a separate statement from ANA, and other collections, including those depicting Boeing 787 aircraft, will be offered starting on June 7.
According to the website for the new marketplace, authors will be able to sell their works as NFTs there, and some NFTs will be available for trading.

The president of ANA NEO, Mitsuo Tomita, stated on Tuesday, “Through this initiative, we aim to use NFTs to create unique and memorable experiences, by combining digital and physical realms.”
In order to highlight Hokkaido’s nature, cuisine, and culture using the company‘s metaverse platform ANA GranWhale, ANA NEO worked with the government of Hokkaido in November, the northernmost of Japan’s main islands, to “digitally construct” several sections of Hokkaido.

A second fundraising round totaling 1.3 billion yen (US$9.4 million) was announced by ANA NEO in October 2022, bringing the total raised since the company’s founding to 5.8 billion yen.
The Japanese government has backed new metaverse technology more and more in an effort to secure the nation’s economic future. Plans for the country’s adoption of Web3 technology were outlined in a white paper from a government organization that was published in April.
