  • Parivartini Ekadashi 2024 falls on September 14.
  • Three auspicious yogas enhance the spiritual significance of the day.
  • Devotees worship Lord Vamana and observe fast, breaking it on September 15.

Parivartini Ekadashi, dedicated to Lord Vamana, marks a pivotal moment in the Hindu religious calendar. Falling on September 14, 2024, this day is celebrated with great devotion as devotees observe fasting and perform sacred rituals to seek blessings.

Unique to this year, the day aligns with three powerful yogas — Ravi Yoga, Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga, and Shobhana Yoga — making it particularly auspicious.

Rituals and Auspicious Timings for Parivartini Ekadashi 2024

The fast is observed throughout the day and broken on September 15 during a designated period between 6:06 AM and 8:34 AM. The observance of Parivartini Ekadashi is believed to bring about positive transformations and divine protection. Worshippers are encouraged to perform their puja during the auspicious yogas and avoid rituals during the inauspicious Rahukal. The fast is concluded with Parivartini Ekadashi Parana after offering prayers the following morning.

The auspicious yogas start from 6:06 AM with Ravi Yoga and last until 6:06 AM the following day, allowing ample time for devotees to perform their religious duties. The rituals begin with a bath, followed by offering water to the Sun God, and making a vow to observe the fast. Devotees then adorn an idol of Lord Vishnu or Vamana with flowers, garlands, and sacred threads before performing the Aarti.

Devotees are advised to be mindful of the Rahukal, which lasts from 9:11 AM to 10:44 AM, during which no rituals should be performed. After offering sacred items like yellow flowers, tulsi leaves, and fruits to Lord Vamana, devotees recite sacred texts and conclude their prayers with Aarti. Rituals during the Ravi and Shobhana Yogas are considered especially auspicious, bringing good fortune.

On the next day, after observing the fast throughout Parivartini Ekadashi, devotees break their fast during the Parana period, between 6:06 AM and 8:34 AM on September 15. The conclusion of the fast marks the end of the holy observance, bringing peace and blessings to the devotees.

Parivartini Ekadashi 2024 offers an opportunity for devotees to seek blessings and spiritual growth through fasting and rituals. By following the auspicious timings and avoiding Rahukal, worshippers can maximize the spiritual benefits of this sacred day.
