Wild Elephant Killed a Tamil Nadu Tourist in Idukki

A 52-year-old traveler, a Tamil Nadu local, was stomped on to death by a wild elephant at Chinnar, along the Munnar-Udumalpet interstate expressway on Wednesday.

The casualty was distinguished as Puthukkotai inhabitant Akbar Ali. As indicated by police, the occurrence happened around 10:30 pm.

Elephant Killed a Tourist

Ali and two of his companions were en route to Marayoor from Tamil Nadu through the Munnar-Udumalpet Public expressway via vehicle. A tusker was out and about when they arrived at the Chinnar-Marayoor course close to the Alampetti region.

On seeing the presence of the pachyderm out and about, Ali escaped the vehicle and moved toward the creature. A transporter halted the vehicle close by and sounded the horn.

Out of nowhere, the wild elephant charged at Ali and stomped on him. Ali passed on the spot. The body was moved to the Marayoor government clinic. As per the police, the post-mortem examination will be held at Adimali taluk emergency clinic.

Munnar natural life superintendent S.V. Vinod said that the presence of wild creatures including elephants was normal during night hours on the Marayoor-Chinnar stretch.

The departed man is said to have been affected by liquor. Besides, as he was moving toward the elephant, somebody going in one more vehicle endeavored to click an image of the elephant. These appeared to have incited the creature.

“The tusker was remaining by the street and didn’t seem leaned to move back to the timberland. While different vehicles halted out and about when the presence of the creature was seen, this traveler strolled to the elephant which appeared to have incited it,”
