Priyanka Gandhi Announces Free Education

  • Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has pledged free education up to Class 12 in Madhya Pradesh.
  • She also restated the need for a caste census.
  • She pushed her party to show greater accountability to the populace, particularly the indigenous people.

In anticipation of the assembly elections on November 17, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has pledged free education up to Class 12 and an allowance for students attending schools in Madhya Pradesh.

She also restated the need for a caste census, alleging that tribal people and other OBCs are underrepresented in the workforce according to their population share.

Free Education

84% of the state’s population is classified as OBC, SC, or ST, according to a recent caste census, yet there are relatively few of these individuals working.

The leader of the Congress party contended that the BJP government at the Centre wants its country to give them justice and does not want to discuss it.

Gandhi declared that in addition to the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for public servants, a Congress government would offer free education for students in Classes 1 through 12, an allowance of ₹ 500 per month for students in Classes 1 through 8, ₹ 1,000 per month for students in Classes 9 and 10, and ₹ 1,500 for students in Classes 11 and 12 as part of the ‘Padho-Padhao’ (learn and teach) scheme.

In addition, she stated that shoes are being given to tribal members who make a living by gathering tendu leaves rather than bonuses.

Gandhi also drew attention to the corruption issues involving the midday food program, scholarships, and Vyapam exams in the state where the BJP has ruled for almost 225 months. She pushed her party to show greater accountability to the populace, particularly the indigenous people.
