PM Modi calls on ministers to upgrade sports infrastructure

As he addressed the “Chintan Shivir” (brainstorming session) of state and UT sports ministers in Manipur’s capital, Prime Minister Modi stressed the importance of local tournaments to provide athletes with the requisite experience. He also exhorted ministers to make sure that no athlete gets overlooked.

The PM said that although athletes are practicing on their own, it is now time for the ministries to work with a fresh approach to sports events, likening the existing technique to man-to-man marking in sports like football and hockey.

PM Modi Urged the Ministers

Modi continued by stressing the importance of participation from all parties, especially the corporate sector. The prime minister continued, saying that the National Youth Festival could be modified to have a greater impact and that holding such events in the United States shouldn’t just be a formality.

According to a press release from the Press Information Bureau, the Prime Minister claimed that India will only be able to build itself as a top sports nation by making such efforts on a national basis.

  • PM Modi pleaded with the ministers to ensure that no athlete gets overlooked.
  • Chintan Shivir starts with reflection, moves on to ruminating, and concludes with the application.
  • Northeast India’s growth received sports infrastructure investments totaling more than Rs 400 crore.

The PM stated that “any Chintan Shivir begins with contemplation, proceeds with rumination, and ends with implementation.” He emphasized the importance of discussing future objectives as well as going through prior conferences.

The previous meeting was held in Kevadiya in 2022, and the prime minister referred to it, noting that many important topics were discussed and the decision was reached to construct a blueprint for an ecosystem for the development of sports.

He spoke about increasing sports participation between the federal government and the states and highlighted the accomplishments. He continued by noting that rather than plans and programs, the evaluation had to concentrate on the advancement of infrastructure and athletic achievements from the previous year.

Tricolour’s reputation has been improved by numerous athletes from the Northeast who won medals for their country. He claims that the Northeast gives the nation’s sporting diversity new dimensions and adds fresh hues to its cultural diversity.

He asserted that investments in sports infrastructure totaling more than Rs 400 crore have changed the direction of Northeast India‘s growth.
