Happy Valley and Top Boy were the big victors at the 2024 BAFTA TV Awards in London, which celebrated the best in British television over the previous 12 months. Netflix’s The Crown failed to win any awards, and in the international category, Class Act, a French series, won more than popular dramas like Succession, Beef, and The Bear.
Timothy Spall and Jasmine Jobson both took home acting prizes; Jobson was honored for her work in Top Boy, while Spall was honored for his work in The Sixth Commandment.

Matthew MacFadyen won Supporting Actor for his performance in Succession, while Sarah Lancashire won Leading Actor for her part in Happy Valley. Class Act took up the Best International Series award, while Top Boy was voted Best Drama Series. Best Limited Drama went to The Sixth Commandment.
Female and Male Performance in a Comedy Program went to Gbemisola Ikumelo and Mawaan Rizwan in the comedy category for their respective performances in Juice and Black Ops. The Best Scripted Comedy prize went to Such Brave Girls.
The winners of the Best Entertainment Program and Comedy Entertainment Program were Strictly Come Dancing and Late Night Lycett respectively. The Best Factual Entertainment award went to Celebrity Race Across the Globe.
In the factual category, Ellie Simmonds: Finding My Secret Family took home the Single Documentary title, while Lockerbie was voted Best Factual Series. White Nanny, Black Child received Best Specialist Factual, and Netflix’s SquidGame: The Challenge took first place in the Reality category.
