Jin’s Echo Sets New Records, Outshining BLACKPINK and G-Dragon

  • BTS’ Jin breaks iTunes record with his second solo album, Echo.
  • Echo becomes the highest-selling K-pop album of 2025, surpassing Lisa and G-Dragon.
  • Lead single “Don’t Say You Love Me” features K-drama star Shin Se Kyung, intensifying the album’s emotional narrative.

BTS’ Jin has stormed back into the spotlight with his second solo album, Echo. He is shattering records previously held by BLACKPINK’s Lisa and BigBang’s G-Dragon.

Beyond its commercial success, Echo is a deep dive into Jin’s personal exploration of love. The album features six tracks. Each track presents a distinct narrative.

Jin’s Echo Reigns Supreme as 2025’s Bestselling K-pop Album

With Echo, Jin has firmly established himself as a solo powerhouse in the K-pop industry. The album, released under BigHit Music, features a total of seven tracks. It includes the emotive lead single “Don’t Say You Love Me,” which reunites Jin with actress Shin Se Kyung. Their on-screen chemistry adds depth to the heart-wrenching narrative. Thus, they create a visually stunning accompaniment to the deeply personal lyrics.

Jin’s dominance isn’t limited to iTunes. On MelOn, the album’s tracks have swiftly climbed the charts. “Loser,” featuring YENA, is emerging as a fan favorite. The collaborative track blends Jin’s emotive vocals with YENA’s soulful delivery. As a result, it offers a hauntingly relatable depiction of loss and self-reflection.

The album’s commercial success is underscored by its record-breaking first-day sales. It outpaces G-Dragon’s Übermensch by nearly 100,000 copies. This accomplishment also dethrones Lisa’s Alter Ego, which previously held the record for the most No. 1 spots on iTunes in 2025. Jin’s achievement is particularly notable. He becomes the only BTS member to break multiple iTunes records in a single release this year.

While Echo is a clear testament to Jin’s growth as a solo artist, it also reflects his enduring connection to BTS. The thematic focus on love, heartbreak, and self-reflection resonates with the emotional depth seen in BTS’ earlier works. Consequently, this solidifies Jin’s reputation as both a vocalist and a compelling storyteller.

Jin’s Echo not only cements his status as a formidable solo artist but also redefines the boundaries of K-pop storytelling. It achieves this with its emotionally charged narrative and record-breaking success.

“This album is about love in all its forms — the kind that breaks you, the kind that heals you, and the kind you never forget,” Jin said in a press release for Echo.
