The Training of the World’s Youngest Presidents

The role of a nation’s leader has changed in recent years, with some of the youngest presidents in history having the ability to bridge generations and upend the existing quo. At 70 years old, Donald Trump became the oldest president to take office in the US. Narendra Modi and Xi Jinping are also both in their 70s.

The older the individual, the better, even though some seasoned politicians and statesmen fill the position of president. According to research, emotional maturity is essential for success in the corporate world, with a third of senior executives plateauing or derailing because of emotional deficiencies.

World’s Youngest Presidents

Success in higher-level roles requires the development of soft leadership abilities like tolerance, openness, and empathy. The emergence of the youngest presidents today, however, challenges this notion, with the average age of heads of state falling from above 60 to roughly 54 in 36 OECD nations. The quick ascent to the power of these young leaders points to a unique capacity to bridge generations and upend the existing quo.

The list of the world’s youngest presidents also includes Giacomo Simoncini, Carlos Alvarado Quesada, Sanna Marin, Gabriel Boric, Assimi Goita, Irakli Garibashvili, Nayib Bukele, and Emmanuel Macron. The only head of state under 30 is Simoncini, a former sports executive turned politician from Submarine.

The supreme leader and statesman of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, is 39 years old. As one of history’s youngest presidents, he holds a unique position. He is one of the wealthiest and most feared presidents in the world, having been elected in 2011 at the age of just 27.

Goita, a military commander from Mali, is one of Africa‘s youngest presidents. Georgia’s prime minister, Garibashvili, is the second-youngest head of state in the world after him and has held the position twice.

A politician and businessman with 4.6 million followers on Twitter, Bukele studied in the US and El Salvador. The former Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, is 33 years old and is quite interested in sports.

The former president of Costa Rica, Carlos Alvarado Quesada, won the election when he was only 38 years old and has degrees from Harvard University and the University of Costa Rica in political science and sociology. The youngest president in the world since Napoleon I is Macron, who is also on the list.
