Saudi Arabia may Participate in the Shift Away from the US Dollar

The significance of de-dollarization for the global community has been emphasized by a University of Tehran professor who is also a member of Iran’s Presidential Delegation to China.

The United States has used the dollar as a weapon against several nations. It is unsafe and untrustworthy, the lecturer said.

De-Dollarization Participation

In an interview with the Chinese government-owned news site Global Times, published on Wednesday, Professor Mohammad Marandi discussed de-dollarization as well as Iran’s connections with Saudi Arabia and China.

The Vice President for International Affairs at the University of Tehran and a member of Iran’s Presidential Delegation to China, he is an academician of Iranian descent.

  • The United States has used the dollar as a weapon against several nations.
  • Several nations, including China, Iran, and Russia, must abandon the dollar.
  • The U.S. shouldn’t be permitted to utilize the dollar to exert pressure on other nations.

Therefore, several nations, including China, Iran, and Russia, must abandon the dollar so that the United States cannot use it as a weapon against them. The lecturer continued, “The U.S. shouldn’t be permitted to utilize the dollar to exert pressure on other nations.

In the lengthy period of unrest in the Middle East, the restoration of bilateral ties between Saudi Arabia and Iran, mediated by China in March, has been viewed as a key step towards peace.

To ensure that Saudi Arabia is neither more nor less vulnerable to the United States, I think that shifting away from the dollar will eventually be in Saudi Arabia’s best interests.

In expressing his opinion, the professor said, “I think the chances for Saudi Arabia to join the camp of de-dollarization significantly increase if the rapprochement continues.”

The Chinese yuan would also be ideal for China to use to import energy from the Gulf region since it is a major energy importer.
