Gulf Craft Innovates with Crypto in MENA’s Maritime Sector

  • Gulf Craft becomes the first shipyard in MENA to accept regulated crypto payments.
  • Partnership with ARP Pay enables seamless stablecoin transactions in UAE and Bahrain.
  • UAE government agencies are increasingly integrating digital currencies in services.

In a landmark move for the maritime industry, Gulf Craft, a premier UAE-based luxury yacht manufacturer, has announced it will now accept cryptocurrency payments for purchases and services.

This transition aligns with the UAE’s broader embrace of blockchain and digital payment ecosystems. Mohamed Hussein Alshaali, Chairman of Gulf Craft, emphasized the importance of keeping pace with client expectations while advancing the nation’s reputation for innovation in both manufacturing and finance.

Sailing into the Future: UAE’s Gulf Craft Launches Crypto Yacht Payments

The UAE has been rapidly evolving into a crypto-friendly hub, with both public and private entities adopting digital currencies. The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department recently made headlines by becoming the first government body in the Middle East to accept a stablecoin—AE Coin—for legal service fees. This milestone reflects a growing confidence in digital currencies and signals readiness for wider adoption across sectors.

Similarly, Dubai’s Department of Finance has partnered with Crypto.com to facilitate crypto-based government fee payments, laying the groundwork for seamless public service access through digital assets. From legal services to finance, the UAE is creating a cohesive ecosystem where crypto is not just an investment tool, but a practical transaction medium.

Gulf Craft’s new payment model taps into this ecosystem and caters to a niche, yet growing segment of luxury buyers who actively use crypto. Group CEO Erwin Bamps highlighted that this move places the company ahead of the curve, offering fast and secure digital payment options for everything from its Majesty and Nomad yachts to the Oryx and SilverCAT series.

This evolution in maritime commerce signals a broader shift in consumer behavior, especially among global buyers seeking innovative, tech-forward solutions. By accepting crypto, Gulf Craft enhances its appeal to international markets while reinforcing the UAE’s identity as a digital economy pioneer.

Gulf Craft’s integration of crypto payments marks a pivotal step for the maritime industry and reflects the UAE’s broader strategy to lead in digital innovation.
