Flipkart Appoints Myntra CEO Nandita Sinha to Lead Fashion Segment

In a notable leadership change, Nandita Sinha, the CEO of Myntra, has been appointed to head Flipkart Fashion, in addition to her current role. This move comes after the departure of Arief Mohamad, who had a significant nine-year tenure with Flipkart, most recently as the Vice President and Head of Fashion. Sinha’s promotion reflects her successful track record at Myntra and her ability to drive growth and innovation within the company.

Sinha’s career at Flipkart began in 2013, and she has held various key positions, culminating in her appointment as Myntra’s CEO in 2022. Her academic background includes degrees from IIT-BHU and the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi. Sinha’s previous experience at Unilever and Britannia adds to her robust leadership credentials, making her well-suited for her expanded role.

Under Sinha’s leadership, Myntra has targeted premium consumers and strengthened its position in the fashion industry. Meanwhile, Flipkart Fashion caters to value-conscious customers, maintaining distinct market segments despite the unified leadership. This dual approach allows Flipkart to cater to a broad spectrum of consumers, enhancing its market presence.

Amid increasing competition from Amazon, Meesho, and new quick commerce entrants, Flipkart is bolstering its fashion segment. The $54 million investment in Myntra and the introduction of FlipInTrends in 2024 demonstrate Flipkart’s commitment to innovation and growth. These initiatives aim to feature Made-in-India brands and appeal to a diverse customer base, ensuring Flipkart stays ahead in the competitive e-commerce landscape.

With Nandita Sinha at the helm of both Myntra and Flipkart Fashion, the company is poised to leverage her leadership to navigate the competitive e-commerce market, drive growth, and continue innovating in the fashion sector.

“A seasoned leader and group veteran, she has been instrumental in driving the growth of numerous businesses within the Flipkart ecosystem.”
