Khadi Gramodyog Crosses ₹1.5 Lakh Crore Mark, Highlights Modi in Mann Ki Baat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his 112th Mann Ki Baat address, announced that Khadi Gramodyog’s business has reached an unprecedented ₹1.5 lakh crore.

Modi also highlighted International Tiger Day, celebrated globally on July 29, and praised local conservation efforts such as the ‘Kulhadi Band Panchayat’ initiative in Ranthambore, Rajasthan.

In his address, Modi reflected on the Charaideo Moidam, a 700-year-old mound-burial system of the Ahom dynasty in Assam, which is being considered for inclusion in the Cultural Property category at the 46th World Heritage Committee meeting. This historic site underscores India’s rich cultural heritage and its global significance.

Furthermore, Modi urged Indians to cheer for athletes participating in the Paris Olympics, emphasizing the pride and honor brought to the nation through their participation. He highlighted how such international platforms offer opportunities for Indian athletes to showcase their talent and bring glory to the country.

The Prime Minister also focused on the National Handloom Day, to be celebrated on August 7. He stressed the importance of the handloom sector in creating sustainable livelihoods and urged people to integrate Khadi and handloom products into their wardrobes. Modi’s call to action aims to bolster domestic industries and promote traditional Indian craftsmanship.

Lastly, Modi lauded the community efforts in Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh for their Tiger Day campaigns, which reflect the country’s commitment to wildlife conservation. These efforts are essential in maintaining the ecological balance and protecting endangered species, showcasing India’s dedication to environmental sustainability.
