Tyre Nichols was a 29-year-old black man and a worker at FedEx. He loves skateboarding when he was six years old.
Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, Desmond Mills Jr, Emmitt Martin III, and Justin Smith are the five police officers in Memphis, who are already lost their posts. They stopped Nichols for the suspicion of reckless driving and beat him severely for roughly 3 minutes. He was hospitalized and then died after 3 days. So the U.S. government charged these police officers for the murder of Mr Nichols.
Video of Arrest
On Friday, a video of the police arresting Nichols was released to the public in four instalments which is taken by a surveillance camera and a body camera. It is graphically violent and full of expletives and is the reviews of BBC based on the footage. Including Mr Nichols’s family, these videos are viewed by a small number of people before Friday.
In the first video, initially, the police pulled out Mr Nichols from the car and threaten him. He said that he didn’t does anything. Then the officers deploy pepper spray and he is not seen in the rest of the footage. After the hit of pepper spray, the traffic officers use water spray on his eyes. This first video is available in the body cam of the police.

The second video is the footage of the pole camera and it shows a brutal beating. Mr Nichols is taken to the ground quickly and caught up by the officers. The two police officers are working to restrain him, and a third can be seen walking up to him and kicking him in the head twice.
A fourth officer pulls out an expandable baton and strikes Mr Nichols several times. They punched him several times. Mr Nichols appears to be writhing and he is on the ground for five minutes. Then he is taken into the unmarked police vehicle.
The third part is the footage of the officer’s bodycam. In this video, Mr Nichols cry out his mom in distress when two officers can be seen wrestling with him.
The other unnamed officer’s bodycam is the final footage. In this video Mr Nichol is bloodied and it is same as the third footage. At the end of the footage, we can clearly view that he is seriously injured, blood flows from his head and he is in pain.
No one from the surroundings is not willing to help Mr Nichols even after he is injured. In accordance with the state’s public records laws, some parts of the video are redacted or blurred out in the last few minutes.
