Six individuals were shot dead Friday in an unassuming community in provincial Mississippi close to the Tennessee state line, authorities said.
Mississippi Branch of Public Security representative Bailey Martin affirmed the killings in Arkabutla, in Tate Region, to The Related Press.

Gov. Tate Reeves’ office said he had been advised of the shootings and a male suspect was in guardianship.
“Right now, we accept he acted alone,” Reeves said in an explanation. “His thought process isn’t yet known.”
