  • IndiGo offers up to 18% discount on flights from August 5-8, 2024.
  • New business class product ‘IndiGo Stretch’ to launch in mid-November.
  • Recent financial report shows a 12% decline in net profit but a 17% revenue increase.

IndiGo, India’s largest airline, is celebrating its 18th anniversary with a special promotion offering up to 18% off on flights.

This discount is available for bookings made between August 5 and August 8, 2024, using the code ‘HAPPY18’ on the IndiGo website and app.

IndiGo Unveils Anniversary Discounts and Business Class Upgrade

The annou ncement comes on the heels of Interglobe Aviation Ltd.’s recent quarterly financial results, which revealed a 12% year-on-year decline in net profit to ₹2,729 crore for the April to June 2024 quarter. Despite this, the company’s revenue from operations increased by 17% to ₹19,571 crore. Additionally, the operating EBITDA rose by 4% to ₹5,160 crore, although the EBITDA margin dropped to 26.4% from 29.8% in the corresponding period last year.

In addition to the discount, IndiGo has introduced a new business class product named ‘IndiGo Stretch’. This premium service will be available on 12 routes, including key cities like Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Mumbai, starting from mid-November 2024. ‘IndiGo Stretch’ is designed to offer enhanced comfort and amenities to business travelers, reflecting the airline’s commitment to evolving its services to meet customer needs.

The announcement of these new initiatives coincides with IndiGo’s latest financial report, which highlighted a mixed performance. While the net profit for the April to June 2024 quarter declined by 12% year-on-year to ₹2,729 crore, the revenue from operations saw a significant increase of 17% to ₹19,571 crore. This growth in revenue indicates strong market demand and effective operational strategies despite the decline in profitability.

Furthermore, IndiGo’s EBITDA for the quarter increased by 4% to ₹5,160 crore, showcasing resilience in its core operations. However, the EBITDA margin experienced a slight drop from 29.8% to 26.4%, reflecting the challenges faced in maintaining cost efficiency amidst rising operational costs. These financial dynamics underscore the importance of strategic initiatives like the anniversary discount and the launch of ‘IndiGo Stretch’ in sustaining long-term growth.

As IndiGo moves forward, the introduction of ‘IndiGo Stretch’ represents a significant step in expanding its service offerings and catering to the evolving demands of its customer base. The business class product is expected to enhance the travel experience for business travelers, offering greater comfort and convenience. This development aligns with IndiGo’s ongoing efforts to innovate and stay ahead in the competitive airline industry.

The anniversary discount and the launch of ‘IndiGo Stretch’ are strategic moves by IndiGo to celebrate its 18 years of operation while setting the stage for future growth. By offering attractive promotions and enhancing its service offerings, IndiGo aims to strengthen its market position and continue delivering value to its customers.

IndiGo’s 18th anniversary celebrations with discounts and the launch of ‘IndiGo Stretch’ highlight the airline’s commitment to customer satisfaction and service enhancement, setting the stage for future growth.
