The first-ever KwaZulu World Carnival is set to transform Durban into a cultural extravaganza on June 29. Celebrating the rich tapestry of KwaZulu-Natal’s traditions, the carnival invites attendees to immerse themselves in a day filled with vibrant parades, international dance troupes, and a showcase of authentic African cuisines.

From 12:00 to 14:00, the city will come alive with a colorful parade spanning from the Workshop to Hoy Park, where participants dressed in traditional attire will line the streets to enjoy the festivities.

Durban is gearing up for an extraordinary cultural celebration with the inaugural KwaZulu World Carnival on June 29. This event promises to be a melting pot of cultures, featuring participants adorned in traditional dress from KwaZulu villages and neighboring countries like Eswatini, Botswana, Zambia, and Burundi. The carnival aims to emulate renowned international events like Brazil’s Rio Carnival while offering a uniquely authentic Zulu experience.

The highlight of the day-long festivities is a spirited parade starting at noon, where the streets will be alive with dancers, stilt walkers, brass bands, and drum majorettes.
