A participant in the London to Brighton Bike Ride passed away. The 60-year-old man passed away early on Sunday morning in Smallfield, Surrey, near Gatwick Airport.

His heirs have been notified. “We are appealing for any witness to this incident who may be able to assist with our investigation into the circumstances of this incident to come forward and assist us in our investigation.”, stated Surrey Police.
The British Heart Foundation organized the ride, whose chief executive, Charmaine Griffiths, expressed: “Our deepest sympathies are with the rider’s loved ones.”
