Remember Monday to Represent the UK at Eurovision 2025

  • The UK has chosen country-pop trio Remember Monday for Eurovision 2025.
  • Their song What The Hell Just Happened? was unveiled on BBC Radio 2.
  • The contest will take place in Basel, Switzerland, with the Grand Final on May 17.

The BBC has officially announced that Remember Monday will be representing the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. The country-pop trio, consisting of Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull, and Charlotte Steel, gained recognition on The Voice UK in 2019 and have since built a strong independent following.

This marks a shift in musical direction for the UK, moving away from the pop and dance influences of recent years toward a more country-inspired sound.

The UK’s Eurovision Journey Continues with Remember Monday

The UK’s Eurovision selection process saw BBC Studios and industry experts collaborate to find an act that embodies the country’s musical heritage. David May, former manager of Sam Ryder, played a key role in the selection, emphasizing a return to what the UK does best musically. This internal selection process differs from past public selections and aims to bring the UK back to Eurovision success.

Remember Monday brings a fusion of pop, rock, and country, a first for the UK at Eurovision. Their viral social media presence, with over 500,000 TikTok followers, has helped them build a dedicated fanbase. Their previous releases, including the 2024 EP Crazy Monday, have showcased their storytelling and vocal harmonies, which could set them apart in the competition.

The UK’s recent Eurovision results have been mixed, with Sam Ryder’s SPACE MAN securing second place in 2022, but the following entries by Mae Muller and Olly Alexander failing to break into the top 15. The team behind Remember Monday is optimistic that this fresh sound will resonate with both juries and televoters.

As a Big 5 country, the UK automatically qualifies for the Grand Final on May 17 in Basel. Competing against strong contenders, Remember Monday will aim to bring the UK back to the top of the leaderboard. Their performance will be a key moment as they introduce a country-pop sound to the Eurovision stage.

With a fresh country-pop sound and a dedicated team behind them, Remember Monday is set to make a strong impression at Eurovision 2025. Their song What The Hell Just Happened? represents a bold new direction for the UK, and fans will be eager to see how it performs on the grand stage.

“There’s an essence of Britishness in the song.” – Andrew Cartmell, UK Head of Delegation.
