Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7: Camera Expectations and Upcoming Features

  • The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will feature a 50MP primary camera and 12MP ultra-wide lens.
  • No major telephoto lens or significant camera upgrades expected.
  • The foldable phone might use the Exynos 2500 chipset and focus on AI integration.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to continue the trend of modest camera improvements, with the primary 50MP rear sensor carrying over from its predecessor.

Leaks suggest the Z Flip 7 may adopt the Exynos 2500 chipset, which should bring some performance boosts, although the improvements in picture quality will be minimal.

Galaxy Z Flip 7: Limited Camera Upgrades and New Chipset Insights

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 is set to arrive with a familiar camera setup, featuring a 50MP primary sensor alongside a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 10MP selfie camera. While the specifications aren’t groundbreaking, Samsung’s approach to improving the overall experience seems to center around AI-driven photography rather than offering dramatic hardware changes. This follows the trend seen in the Galaxy S25 lineup, where image quality improvements come from better processing and a faster ISP.

One of the most talked-about aspects of the Z Flip 7 is its potential use of the Exynos 2500 chipset. Although it’s expected to offer better thermal management by eliminating one core, performance boosts over previous models will likely be modest. The move to an Exynos chip shows Samsung’s commitment to its custom processors, despite the global use of the Snapdragon 8 Elite in other devices.

The production target for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 has been scaled back to about 3 million units, indicating weaker-than-expected demand for foldables. This lower target, coupled with the possibility of a less impressive camera update, suggests that Samsung may be focusing on other areas, such as foldable technology, which has yet to become mainstream. There is also speculation about a Galaxy Z Flip FE model, which could be a more affordable alternative.

Despite these rumors, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will likely continue Samsung’s push to refine the foldable form factor, with incremental improvements over its predecessor. The lack of major camera changes could be a sticking point for some consumers, but the phone’s AI-driven features and chipset upgrades might still appeal to those looking for a balance between performance and innovation.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 may not excite camera enthusiasts with groundbreaking updates, but it is poised to continue refining the foldable experience, focusing on AI and processing power.

“As with its other recent devices, Samsung seems to be more focused on processing power and AI-driven features than significant hardware changes for the Galaxy Z Flip 7.”
