The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) has recently updated its rankings for agriculture institutes in India, highlighting the leading institutions in the field.

Following IARI, the ICAR – National Dairy Research Institute in Haryana ranks second, with a focus on improving dairy farming practices and production.

Highlights of India’s Top Agricultural Institutions

The top agricultural institutions in India have recently been ranked based on their performance and contributions to the field. The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) stands out for its pioneering research in agricultural science, significantly impacting productivity and technology. With a score of 87.98, IARI’s leadership in agricultural education and research is well-recognized.

In second place, the ICAR – National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) focuses on dairy farming advancements, playing a vital role in improving milk production and dairy industry practices. Punjab Agricultural University, securing the third position, is distinguished by its extensive network of research stations and agricultural support services that cater to the needs of farmers across Punjab.

Banaras Hindu University and the Indian Veterinary Research Institute follow, each contributing significantly to agricultural and veterinary sciences. Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, and GB Pant University further enhance the nation’s agricultural research landscape. The Central Institute of Fisheries Education and Sher-e-Kashmir University round out the top ten, specializing in fisheries and regional agricultural sciences respectively.
