Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, known as E-Town, is setting its sights on becoming a pivotal hub for artificial intelligence. At the recent AI Town Innovation Conference, E-Town outlined its strategy to integrate AI technologies deeply into urban development and industrial transformation.

This initiative includes the launch of pioneering platforms like the Beijing AI Application Scenario Institute (BAIASI) and the Beijing AI Native Industry Acceleration Platform (BAINIAP), aimed at fostering collaboration and innovation across various sectors.

Moreover, E-Town has identified ten benchmark AI application scenarios, spanning healthcare, transportation, and industrial design, among others. These initiatives are supported by substantial investments in infrastructure and funding, including a 10-billion-yuan special fund to support AI enterprises and talent development throughout their growth cycles. E-Town’s comprehensive approach aims not only to enhance efficiency in public services but also to drive economic growth through cutting-edge technology solutions.

In addition to technological advancements, E-Town is focusing on creating a supportive ecosystem for AI enterprises and talent. This includes establishing venture capital and industry funds, as well as offering extensive support throughout the business growth cycle. By fostering collaboration between global enterprises and local innovators, E-Town aims to create scalable and replicable solutions that can drive sustainable development and economic prosperity.

The launch of Yizhi, a state-of-the-art government affairs service platform powered by AI, further underscores E-Town’s commitment to digital transformation. This platform enhances efficiency in governance by integrating multi-model management, knowledge base operations, and one-stop supervision. It represents a significant step towards establishing E-Town as a model smart city where technology seamlessly integrates with everyday governance and public services.
