To reduce weight gradually, the International Council of Medical Nutrition (ICMR) has produced guidelines advising people to adopt a balanced diet.

According to the rules, diets for weight loss should include all the nutrients and not be any fewer than 1000 kcal per day. It is deemed safe to reduce body weight by half a kilogram per week; fast weight-loss methods and the usage of anti-obesity medications ought to be avoided.

To maintain a healthy weight and waist circumference, the ICMR also suggests including fresh vegetables, whole grains, pulses, and beans in your diet. Fruit juices, processed foods, and sugar should be avoided. Yoga and regular exercise can help with weight loss and overall health maintenance.

Planning balanced meals with enough vegetables, eating more servings of vegetables, controlling portion sizes, snacking wisely, choosing lean meat, cooking with healthy techniques, avoiding sugary drinks, and reading food labels for information on calories, saturated fats added sugar, and sodium are some of the recommended healthy weight loss options. To prevent lifestyle diseases, these techniques seek to reduce the likelihood of both abdominal and total obesity.
